Inquest hears a woman from Lincoln died after suffering abdominal injuries in car crash on Greek Island

A woman from Lincolnshire died after suffering abdominal injuries in a car crash on a Greek island, an inquest has heard.

Cafe assistant Sophie Leanne Priestley died at the General Hospital in Kos on July 29, Lincolnshire Coroner's Court was told on Wednesday.

The 33-year-old, of Usher Green in Lincoln, was a passenger in a private-use car when the crash happened, the court heard.

According to a fundraising page set up to pay for Ms Priestley's body to be repatriated to the UK and to cover funeral costs, she was a mother of three young children and was on holiday at the time.

In a tribute posted on their Facebook page, JK's Cafe in Lincoln, where Ms Priestley worked, said she was "one of a kind".

They wrote: "Sophie was and always will be a massive part of the JK's family. Sophie, we will miss you so, so much, your banter and smile lit up any room, you was one of a kind, you will never be forgotten."

The cafe said it would donate all takings - more than ÂŁ4,300 - between August 5 and 10 to Ms Priestley's children.

It added: "I know Sophie would be extremely proud and grateful for everything everyone is doing for her, and for her children."

The GoFundMe page, which has raised more than ÂŁ22,000.

The inquest into Ms Priestley's death was adjourned until January 28 next year.
