Four people remain in custody after police brought a vehicle to a stop in Stallingborough.

At around 10.15pm on Tuesday night (30 September), officers in Grimsby attempted to stop a black Vauxhall Astra which had reportedly failed to stop the previous evening on St Peters Avenue.

When officers signalled for the car to pull over, it is alleged the driver accelerated away at speed, driving erratically and prompting a police pursuit.

The vehicle was eventually brought to a halt by Roads Policing officers on Hobson Way, Stallingborough, where it is reported the driver attempted to move into the back seat.

A search of the vehicle uncovered quantities of what police believe to be cocaine and cannabis, which were seized.

A 17-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, driving under the influence of drugs, failing to stop, and possession of Class A drugs.

An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and possession of Class B drugs.

A 19-year-old woman and a 21-year-old woman were both arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and failing to stop.

All four remain in police custody while enquiries continue.
