Grimsby and Cleethorpes MP says Sir Keir Starmer's speech yesterday showed the party can and will bring about positive change.
The PM said there would be major challenges ahead but was optimistic they could make a difference.
Prime Minister, Sir Keir said there would be tough decisions ahead but was optimistic it would be worth it in the end.
It comes after the party was criticised for removing winter fuel payments from many pensioners and taking gifts from donors.
This is what we're going to do to fix it
We got reaction from Melanie Onn the Grimsby and Cleethorpes Labour MP.
She lost her seat in 2019 but returned to Westminster following July's election.
She told us: "Hearing people talking to them straight and saying this is the scale of the challenge - this is what we're going to do to fix it and this is how we'll fix it."
"And then when we fix it this is what we're going to do."
"Making sure communities feel safe - that people do feel secure in their employment - on their streets is so important."
The country expects there to be change
"It was a message that we want to rebuild and we want to renew the country - that is not an overnight success - it will take time."
"But everybody in Government is focussed on making sure it does that and takes the country with us."
"The country expects there to be change and I think making sure young people are skilled up - making sure we focus on the fact people are expecting their lives to get better is so essential."
"Not just to people in Grimsby and Cleethorpes but to the whole country."
The Tories say the speech did nothing to change the impression the Government isn't making progress.
They also claim Labour has no credible plan to fix the economy.
