Motorcyclists have vandalised a newly opened skatepark in Grantham, councillors say.
Wyndham Park skatepark was opened on 5th February following a £125,000 investment.
The park was inspired by 12-year-old Zak who worked with his local councillor, Tim Harrison, to bring a skateboarding venue to the town.
Zak came up with the idea, lobbied South Kesteven District Council, and gave a presentation at his school.
Cllr Harrison said he was frustrated by the damage done to the park.
The park remains open, but the vandalism is still "disheartening and unacceptable", Cllr Paul Stokes said.
“We are proud of our parks and the work that our staff and volunteers put into looking after them. We will not let the selfish behaviour of a tiny minority deter us from maintaining them to the highest standards.”
South Kesteven District Council said the vandalism undermined efforts to improve facilities for young people in the town.
