It's been revealed the Grantham relief road project will not finish until next year and cost ten to 20 million pounds more than expected.
It's said to be down to major safety issues with the construction of a bridge over the train line which is responsible for the delays.
No exact date next year has been given
The county council says it's the architects who've made a mistake and the authority will get the money back.
Councillor for Highways Richard Davies says:
"Initially we will have to bear the cost of that but one thing I can categorically state is that it is not a mistake the county council made and we will be embarking on legal proceedings with those who are responsible and we will be getting that money back."
We've done everything you could have expected us to have done
"I'm very annoyed - I'm very disappointed."
"The reason I'm stood here is that I wanted to build this road."
"I am pleased that we have built as much of this as we have but I started considerably less grey and less tired and beaten up than I now stand here before you."
"It has been hard work but I'm confident it will be finished."
"We are making progress - everyday we get a little bit closer but it's a very hard fought scheme."
"At the same time we are building in some of the most difficult conditions possible."
I think I can say hand on heart that we've done everything you could have expected us to have done and the public could have expected."
