Gainsborough's MP says he's prepared to lie down on rail tracks at Market Rasen if a proposed Cleethorpes to London service doesn't stop there.
Sir Edward Leigh raised the issue in the commons.
He and others have been lobbying for the route to return.
However there have been delays to the project.
Mr Leigh says it must be able to stop at Market Rasen.
He told the Commons:
If it doesn't stop in Market Rasen I'm going to lie down on the line and stop it that way
"The previous minister promised my honourable friend (Cleethorpes MP Martin Vickers) and myself that he'd instructed LNER and Network Rail to ensure we got our through train from Grimsby and Cleethorpes to London."
"Will the minister confirm that she is going to continue these firm instructions and above all this train stops?"
"If it doesn't stop in Market Rasen I'm going to lie down on the line and stop it that way."
Lilian Greenwood - a minister in the transport department replied:
"I do hope that the honourable member will not put himself in such danger."
"We are working with industry to address timetabling, financial, operational and infrastructure issue that would need to be resolved before a service between Cleethorpes and London via Market Rasen could be introduced - once the East Coast mainline timetable change has been implemented."
"We will consider any proposals put forward with approval subject to funding and a thorough business case."
