Lincolnshire Police has confirmed officers are treating a fire at the former B&M store in Boston as arson, and are investigating.

They received a call at 8.06pm yesterday evening (Wednesday 30th October) to the disused building on Lawrence Lane.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue had been sent at 7.58pm, to deal with a quantity of waste and waste clothing on fire.

The service added in a statement: "There was fire damage to an external canopy and the ceiling of the outbuilding.

"Crews from Leverton and Boston attended and used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire as well as thermal imaging cameras and Holmatro cutting equipment to gain access to a further disused building and check for fire spread.

"This incident was confirmed as being caused deliberately."
