Spanish autopsy report says Jay Slater would have died instantly after fall
The Lancashire teenager was found 29 days after going missing in Tenerife
The likely cause of death suffered by Lancashire teenager Jay Slater, has been revealed in a preliminary autopsy by Spanish authorities.
The body of the 19 year old from Oswaldtwisle was found last week, 29 days after he went missing in Tenerife following the NRG music festival.
We still have very few details about what happened to Jay the morning of the 17th June, when he set off on a more than 20 mile journey from the remote village of Masca.
He'd stayed there after the festival with some people he met and needed to get back to his friends who were staying in the popular holiday resort of Playa de las Americas.
We know the landscape in Masca is rugged and dangerous and the results of this preliminary autopsy point to some kind of fall or plunge from height due to the broken bones Jay suffered.
It's being reported that his family has taken some very small comfort from the likelihood that his death will have been instantaneous, but they still face an agonising wait to bring his body back to the UK.
