Lancashire Police charge man with stabbing following assault in Preston
Jack Sanderson, 31, will appear at Preston Magistrates' Court tomorrow
Police in Lancashire have charged a man in relation to an assault that left a man with stab injuries.
Officers first received reports of an incident taking place in the West Cliff area of Preston in the early hours of Friday morning (May 17th).
When responders arrived at the area, they found a man in his 40s requiring immediate medical treatment for injuries consistent with stabbing.
At the same time, police were able to arrest a 31-year-old at the scene of the crime as investigations were opened by the force.
Following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, the man has been named as 31-year-old Jack Sanderson from Charlesway Court on Lea Road in Preston.
Sanderson was charged by officers on a Section 18 order of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
As well as this, he also was charged with possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, and possession of a Class A controlled drug – cocaine.
In the wake of this, Sanderson has been remanded in police custody and will appear at Preston Magistrates' Court on Monday morning (May 20th).
