Preston North End are on the verge of their first FA Cup semi-final in over 60 years.

To get to Wembley the Lillywhites must first get past Champions League quarter-finalists Aston Villa.

The game, which is kicking off at 1:30pm on Sunday, is the first FA Cup quarter final North End have played in since 1965-66.

Preston come into the clash at Deepdale as the lowest ranked side remaining in the tournament but will go into the game with confidence after being unbeaten in their last 15 games across all competitions at Deepdale (W6 D9), and conceding just nine in that time.

To reach the last eight of the tournament Paul Heckingbottom’s side have knocked out Wycombe, Charlton and Burnley.

Preston North End boss Paul Heckingbottom said: "They Aston Villa are probably looking at it as a realistic chance of getting the silverware.

"We're playing against the highly motivated team who's in the quarter finals of the Champions League, so we get that we prepared for that.

"But as I said before, what have we got to lose? We just need to try and produce our best game."

He added that he's expecting a great atmosphere at Deepdale: "I've heard little things that's going off for the atmosphere. I want everyone to enjoy it.

"It's great that we hear in at this stage in this competition after so long, the majority of the fans will probably be in the stadium, won't have seen us at this stage in the FA Cup, which is great. So let's make the most of it."

Both Preston North End and Aston Villa have progressed from three of the six previous FA Cup ties between the sides, with this the first meeting since a 1-0 win for Aston Villa in January 1967

Winger Robbie Brady said the fans will be their twelfth man: "Deepdale was bouncing the other week when we played against Burnley.

"I think you're trying to use every tool you have when you when you're playing against a a level of opposition like Aston Villa, so we'll use all we can, so hopefully it's as loud as it was, maybe louder if you can."
