Police release images to try to identify woman found dead in Chorley
Officers believe the woman had been sleeping rough before she died

Police have released images of the clothes that were being worn by a woman who was found dead in Chorley, in an attempt to identify her.
At around 11:44am on Friday 23 August, officers were called by the North West Ambulance Service to a report that a woman's body had been found on Dawson Lane, Whittle-le-Woods.
Since the discovery police have been unable to identify the woman, who is believed to have been homeless.
Her death is not being treated as suspicious and there is no evidence of third-party involvement, Lancashire Police said.
The force is now appealing to the public for help, to make sure the woman's family and friends are found to be made aware of the news.
Description of the woman
The woman is white, approximately 40-50 years old with short, dark curly hair and a very slim build. She is approximately 5’4” tall and has no obvious scars or tattoos.
She was wearing a black ‘Peter Storm’ rain jacket, navy blue waterproof cargo pants, pink ‘Asics’ sports t-shirt, Orange and Black ‘Crane’ footwear, black ‘Ronhill’ gloves, and a rose gold-coloured ‘Lipsy’ watch.
She also had with her a silver-coloured tent/rain cover.
The woman also had a phone in her possession, but officers have been unable to get any data from this that would help to identify her. Her fingerprints are also not on their database.
Lancashire Police urged anyone who may be missing a loved one that could match the description of this woman to come forward.
