Police cordon up in Lancaster after 'suspicious package' found

Lancashire Police have confirmed a shopping centre in Lancaster city centre has been sealed off by police after reports of a suspicious package.
The force were called to St Nicholas Arcade at around 6:30am this morning (28 April) and a cordon was put in place around Lancaster Gate.
Officers are urging people to avoid the area whilst a explosive disposal team attend the scene.
In a statement police said: "We currently have a cordon in place in Lancaster Gate, Lancaster.
"This was following a report we received at 6.32am that a suspicious package had been found near to a property.
"Colleagues from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal team are on their way and we ask people to avoid the area as a precaution."
Diversions are in place as Great John Street is closed from Moor Lane to Nelson Street.
