Lancashire teen missing in Tenerife

A search is underway for a missing Lancashire teenager in Tenerife.

Jay Slater, 19, who's from Oswaldtwistle, had flown to the Island to attend a music festival with his friends.

The teenager was reportedly attempting to return to the apartment he was staying at after a night out.

His last known location was in the National Park of Teno near the town of Santiago del Teide at around 8am yesterday (June 17) morning.

His family and friends are appealing for information.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office said: "We are supporting the family of a British man who has been reported missing in Spain and are in contact with the local authorities."
