An investigation is underway by police after a double stabbing in Blackpool.

Officers were called to Watson Road early yesterday morning, after receiving reports that two people had been attacked; but when they arrived, the pair had left the scene.

Police now want the public's help in trying to trace them.

In a statement, they said "We are appealing for witnesses and information following reports of a stabbing in Blackpool.

"The emergency services were called at around 6am today to Watson Road, near to St Annes Road, to a report of a disturbance in which two people had received stab injuries.

"Officers are attempting to find the two victims who left the scene."

A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of Section 18 GBH, and is being questioned.
