The Cross Bay Walk is back for 2025!
In aid of Cash for Kids
Join us with friends, family, or colleagues for our third Cross Bay Walk on Saturday the 3rd of May 2025 - part of Hits Radio's Walk Around the World!
This award-winning guided walk across the stunning Morcambe Bay sands is run by Guide over Sands, starting from Arnside Promenade and trekking to the picturesque village of Grange-over-Sands across the biggest expanse of tidal mudflats and sand in the UK.
The terrain is varied and the walk will cover 5.5 to 7.5 miles depending on the safest route. This walk can be challenging, so expect various weather conditions and maybe even a 50 meter wade through water up to 2ft in depth. You'll need to be prepared to get your feet, ankles and legs wet!
Tickets are priced at £20 per person.
Funds raised will be going towards Cash for Kids Day, which is aiming to provide food and fun activities for children at risk of going hungry in the school holidays.
This year the Cross Bay Walk is also part of our Walk Around the World steps challenge for Cash for Kids Day, so your steps across the bay will count towards the big total! You can set up a Walk Around the World fundraising page to collect sponsorship for taking part, and everyone who does will receive a free fundraising pack in the post.

Important Information
Please read before registering.
The walk starts at 9:30am but you'll need to arrive from 8:45am for registration.
You'll be provided with a branded Cash for Kids t-shirt to wear. Please arrive in plenty of time as once the briefing has started no one can be added to the walk or tag along behind.
Unfortunately, we can't give you an exact duration as it'll depend on the safest route on the day. It can take between 2-4 hours on average.
You must be able to walk at least 8 miles at ease.
Dogs are welcome but they must be on the lead and under control at all times.
All children on the walk must walk with an adult for their own safety.
Please do consider the possible depth of water you'll need to cross for small children and your dogs (we want everyone to have a good time and be safe).
Toilets are only available at the start and finish of the walk. They cost 30p using contactless payment.
The quickest way to get between the start and finish points of the walk is by train. We recommend parking at either the start or finish point and using the train. All walkers are responsible for getting themselves to the start and then from the finish back to their transport / cars.
