Worcestershire's Mind charity receives funding to provide mental health training in schools
The training is set to support schools across the region
A charity in Worcestershire says it's important younger people can access the right mental health support if they need it.
Mind have received funding to launch an initiative aimed at providing mental health training to younger people and education on prevention methods.
Staff and students across the area will receive workshops on how to access the help and where they can get it from.
Dave Arnold from the charity says it's important that people know where to go for support if they need it.
He said: "We need to continue to educate people about the signs of mental health, so that people can look out for each other and know where they can go to access help.
"This scheme is aimed at continuing to give support to the staff and students at these schools so they can have these important conversations and intervene early if needed, but also address any stigma that remains about the topic.
"Since COVID, people have become more aware in terms of reaching out for support, but we can always be doing more, which is what we're aiming to do through educating people in this initiative."
The charity says these workshops will aim to provide early intervention support for up to 60,000 students in South Warwickshire and Worcestershire.
