Strikes by more than 300 repair and maintenance workers employed by Citizen Housing in Birmingham, Coventry, Hereford and Worcester have ended following a pay deal.

Workers voted to accept a 4.5 per cent rise backdated to April, plus a one-off payment of £500.

Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said: “Well done to Citizen Housing repair and maintenance workers who went on strike to secure an improved pay offer and won."

The workers, who are responsible for providing services to 30,000 homes, took seven days of strike action during October.

All subsequent strike action has now been called off.
