A Worcestershire economics expert says other political decisions around the world could impact the UK's economy in the future.
It's as the chancellor Rachel Reeves is set to deliver the Spring Statement today
The statement will aim to update the nation today on the economy and progress against the government’s economic objectives and Autumn Budget.
University of Worcester lecturer Boyd Hargreaves says economic growth is likely to be one of the focuses and it'll be interesting to see what is mentioned.
"What I do think is that whatever happens, these are very challenging decisions and very difficult decisions because they impact differently on different parts of the economy," he said.
"We could see an an overall tend for the government to be more efficient in the use of budget and reduce cost within budget departments and what we do know is that whatever is in that statement, we will have someone unpalatable trade-offs for certain sectors of our society and the economy.
"We'll just have to see how the the volatility in the geopolitical position and situation moves forward but I don't see it's going to be an easy ride for the UK economy."
The statement is set to be made just after midday.
