Two new NHS dentists are set to open in Herefordshire - working to support local people.

NHS Herefordshire and Worcestershire have appointed Central Hereford Dental Care as the new provider of NHS dental services in Hereford and they will operate two new practices in the city.

The first of two practices, Central Hereford Dental Care, will operate from premises on Commercial Street in Hereford, with a second practice located to the South of the River due to open late Summer 2024.

A phone line has been set up for the first practice, with appointments being offered based on clinical need and priority and not a "first come first served" system.

A spokesperson for NHS Herefordshire and Worcestershire Integrated Care Board said:

‘Since taking on commissioning for dental services from NHS England in 2023, we have been working to increase access to NHS dental services across the two counties.

Earlier this year we announced that we had commissioned two new practices in Herefordshire. The first is set to open in the coming weeks, with a second location planned to open sometime over the summer.

While this is really good news for the Herefordshire, we know that we need to continue to improve access to NHS dental services across the two counties. However, this is a step in the right direction.

We ask that people are patient while the new practice gets established and understand that there may still be a wait for routine treatment while the practice builds its capacity."
