Severn Stars netball team set for semi-final game against Manchester Thunder
The club has recently been dropped from next season's Netball Super League
The head coach of the Severn Stars netball team says they are excited ahead of tomorrow's semi-final game against Manchester Thunder.
After finishing fourth in the league, the side now have a chance to secure their place in the final.
It was announced in May the club had not been included in the Netball Super League for the 2025 season, with new club Birmingham Panthers set to represent the West Midlands.
Joanna Trip is also a player within the team, and says they are fully focused on the upcoming match.
"It's really huge for us, I've got a team of players that have never played in the top four before," she said.
"I've been with the team now for two seasons as a player and as a coach, and we've done really well, coming sixth last season and now moving into the top four.
"We've got absolutely nothing to lose, and we've got to play it like a final because otherwise they'll be no chance of getting to the actual final itself."
On playing their final game in Worcester as Severn Stars she added: "We've created something really special here in Worcester, and it's really sad and disappointing to see that it's going to be no longer.
"As hard as it is, I definitely think it's a good move for the sport and it's been coming, so it's good to see that it's happening, it's just really sad that we're one of those teams that can't be involved."
Loughborough Lightning take on London Pulse in the other semi-final match.
