Rotary Club of Worcester celebrates centenary

It's a special day for the Rotary Club of Worcester, as it celebrates the 100th anniversary of being granted it charter.
The Rotary Club of Worcester is Club number 132 and was granted its charter on 7th April 1924.
It's part of District 1100, which comprises 65 Rotary Clubs in an area of the West of England stretching from Worcester, down to Bristol and North Somerset and across to Swindon in Wiltshire.
Members normally meet Monday lunchtimes, at 12:55, at the Worcestershire County Cricket Ground. Meetings are scheduled to end at 14:00.
The Rotary Club of Worcester is a dual gender club.
The Club has provided a number of District Governors and currently has a Past District Governor as an active member.
There are also four other Rotary Clubs in the City, Worcester Severn (1982), Worcester South (1968), Worcester Wychavon (1990), Worcester Vigornia (2008)
The Rotary Club of Worcester both raises funds and provides service.
Service includes a variety of activities including literacy support in school; careers advice for young people; projects; organising events for others; providing skills and time to others.
The Club has a range of fund raising activities including quizzes, its board march, social events, recycling and bucket collections.
In a typical year, it makes charitable donations in the region of £14,000.
Over the years the Club has been involved with a wide variety of organisations, either raising funds for them or working with them.
