Prolific Worcester shoplifter banned from multiple stores for three years
He is banned from entering 6 shops in the area
A prolific shoplifter from Worcester has been banned from entering several local stores for the next three years after a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) was granted in court.
Byron Corbett-Stanley, aged 22, of Chatcombe Drive, Worcester, is currently serving a 12-month prison sentence following his conviction in August for multiple offences, including theft from shops, a public order offence, two counts of common assault, and one count of assault by beating.
The CBO was issued at Worcester Magistrates’ Court on Friday (10 October), and will remain in place until 10 October 2028.
Upon his release from prison, Corbett-Stanley will be subject to strict conditions preventing him from entering a number of retail premises across the city.
He is banned from entering the Co-op on Ambleside Drive, Sainsbury’s on Windermere Drive, One Stop on Brickfields Road, Tesco on Mill Wood Drive, Co-op on Barker Street, and Tesco Express on Brindley Road.
In addition, Corbett-Stanley must not refuse to leave a premises when asked by someone in authority, nor argue with or obstruct shop staff or security personnel in any retail location.
The order aims to curb Corbett-Stanley’s persistent offending and protect local businesses and their employees from further incidents.
Police Sergeant Sam Callaway, of Warndon Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “We are pleased the court has granted a CBO against Corbett-Stanley whose prolific thieving has impacted shops and businesses in the city and caused alarm and distress to members of the public.
“The CBO runs for three years so will be in force upon his release from prison."
