Man dies after fatal lorry crash in Hereford

An 18-year-old man has died following a two-vehicle collision earlier this morning

Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious crash this morning (16 December) on the A4103, Yarkhill, Hereford.

The collision happened at around 1am when a blue Vauxhall Corsa collided with an HGV lorry.

The driver of the Corsa, an 18-year-old man, was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the HGV was taken to Hereford County Hospital with serious injuries.

West Midlands Ambulance Service were called to the scene, finding both vehicles on fire.

A spokesperson said: “Sadly, it quickly became clear the driver of the car could not be saved and was confirmed dead at the scene.

“The driver of the lorry, a man, was already out of the vehicle when crews arrived.

“He was treated for serious, but not life-threatening, injuries and conveyed to Hereford County Hospital.”

West Mercia Police would like to speak to anybody who may have seen the collision or from anybody who has dash cam footage from around the time it happened.
