Man dies after collision in Spetchley

It happened yesterday evening on Pershore Lane.

A motorcyclist has sadly died, and another has sustained serious injuries following a collision on Pershore Lane yesterday evening.

At around 5.30pm, a BMW 120D collided with a Triumph motorbike, causing serious but not life-threatening injuries to the motorbike rider.

The car then collided with a second motorbike, a Yamaha and the rider, a man in his 50’s, sadly died from his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A man in his 30’s has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and drug driving.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or may have seen the vehicles travelling prior to the collision.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called at 5.31pm to a collision involving a car and two motorbikes. Two ambulances, a paramedic officer, the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance attended the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Upon arrival we found four patients.

“Firstly, a man who was a motorcyclist who had sustained life-threatening injuries. He received advanced trauma care and advanced life support from ambulance staff at the scene.

“Unfortunately, it became clear that nothing more could be done to save him and he was confirmed deceased.”

“Secondly, a woman who was a motorcyclist was assessed by ambulance staff and had sustained serious injuries. She received treatment at the scene before being conveyed to Worcester Royal Hospital for further treatment.”

“A man who was the driver of, and a child who was a passenger in the car were assessed by ambulance staff and had sustained injuries not believed to be serious.

“They received self-care advice from ambulance staff before being discharged at the scene.”

Officers are appealing for any witnesses of the collision or dashcam footage.
