Motorcyclists are set to cruise on down to Droitwich Spa next month when the town hosts its first Bike Night.

Up to 200 motorcyclists are expected to ride into the High Street in August, allowing visitors to socialise with fellow bikers.

Tim Kirkham from Wychavon District Council says it's great that events like this are taking place.

He said: "This is the first event of this type we've ever done, we've been lucky enough to be able to close off Droitwich High Street, and to have received support from the council to do this.

"We're looking forward to it, it's all about getting people into Droitwich and making improvements to certain facilities to attract more people in.

"I went to the Pershore Plum Festival bike night last year, and that was a success, so I just thought why hasn't Droitwich got one?

"Everybody's getting behind it, and it'll help bring a lot of life back to Droitwich Spa."

The event is due to take place on the 15th August and expected to run from 5-9pm.
