Bromsgrove are set to hold a food festival, aiming to celebrate and showcase the importance of businesses and traders to the area.

'A Taste of Bromsgrove' will take place next Sunday, will places on their high street being able to show off what they do and create that's unique to them.

Deputy council leader Sue Baxter says it's great to see all the shops working together to deliver what they are proud of to the community.

She said: "We've got a lot of independent vendors in Bromsgrove and there's a great community among them," she said.

"Anything that we can do to help to develop that and bring them together, I think it's beneficial both for them, and for our residents.

"Throughout the year we've been doing some improvements to the town centre, and I know that's caused some disruption for some of our vendors, so hopefully by doing this we're actually giving a little bit back to them.

"Our town centres are changing and we've got to recognise that, and I think having events like this, actually bring people into the town centre to allow them to spend time there and actually enjoy it, are so important."

The event will take place on the 6 October.
