A new youth community centre has opened in Redditch today, aimed at deterring people from becoming involved in knife crime.
It's after figures across the region have doubled, with around 1 person in the West Midlands expected to killed by knife crime every two weeks.
The hub has been launched by an anti-knife crime campaigner, who is hoping to turn round the lives of children caught up in it.
Pete Martin has been teaching people in the area since 1989 on how to protect themselves and he started specialising in knife crime after his best friend was stabbed.
Pete said: "There's lots of different aspects to knife crime and lots of different aspects to reduce it.
"We provide bleed kits and first aid training, and we go to schools and host assembly's.
"When I saw my best friend stabbed, I was traumatised.
"I made a vow that I would help people who have gone through the same thing that I had to help the world a little bit."
