A man has died after a collision involving two cars near Kidderminster last night.

The collision happened around 9pm on the A456 in Blakedown when a grey Audi A1 collided with a silver VW Golf.

The driver of the Audi, a man in his 60s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A man in his 70s who was driving the Golf was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital with serious injuries.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman says: “On arrival, crews found the driver of the first car, a man, in a critical condition.

“He was receiving good CPR from fire service colleagues before ambulance staff immediately took over to administer advanced life support.

“Sadly, despite everyone’s best efforts, he could not be saved and was confirmed dead at the scene."
