Police investigate suspected stabbing in Cirencester
The victim remains in hospital after sustaining several suspected stab wounds
Police are investigating a suspected stabbing which took place in Cirencester during the early hours of this morning (Saturday 24 May).
Emergency services were called at around 1am with a report that a man had been found with serious injuries on Matthews Walk.
The victim, a man in his 20s, had sustained several suspected stab wounds and was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol where he remains at this time.
Enquiries are ongoing to establish what happened and a number of scene guards remain in place while officers are at the scene.
A 32-year-old man from Cirencester has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Despite the arrest investigating officers are asking anyone with information which they believe is relevant to make contact.
