The first winner in 14 years!

It's one of the most popular quiz shows around, so fans were over the moon when ITV decided to revive Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? with former Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson in 2018.
Although many have come very close to winning that top jackpot prize of £1 million, nobody has answered all 15 questions correctly for a massive 14 years! But don't worry, because that is about to change on tonight's (Friday 11th September) episode.
The final episode of the current series, which was filmed without a studio audience due to the Coronavirus pandemic, will see one lucky contestant leave with the top prize, following in the footsteps of previous winners Judith Keppel (2000), David Edwards (2001), Robert Brydges (2001), Pat Gibson (2004) and Ingram Willcox (2006).
Speaking about the monumental moment, Jeremy Clarkson said, "Well, I'm absolutely thrilled and delighted that we've found someone who seems to know just about everything. I can't wait for the viewers to see it and I want to watch it back too. I was just in awe of this contestant and think they are probably the best the show has ever had in its 22 year history. It was a joy to sit and watch it unfold.”
Jeremy added, “It felt like we whizzed through the 15 questions and all of a sudden, confetti was falling from the ceiling and I was saying 'You've just won one million pounds'. I wasn't sure I'd ever get to utter those immortal six words and I'm not embarrassed to say, it was a little emotional but boy did it feel good."
Although ITV are not giving away the identity of tonight's winner, it's understood the contestant sailed through the questions with a very calm performance! We can't wait to see it!
Due to the show being filmed under strict social distancing rules and therefore no crowds, all contestants on the upcoming new series will still have four lifelines, but instead of the usual 'Ask the Audience', contestants will have two uses of 'Phone a Friend'.

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? was shot back into the limelight earlier this year when ITV documented the cheating scandal involving former contestant, former British Army major Charles William Ingram.
Charles won the jackpot back in 2001, but after allegations of cheating involving his wife Diana and fellow contestant Tecwen Whittock, Charles was charged and denied the winnings, as documented in ITV drama Quiz.
Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? with Jeremy Clarkson airs on ITV at 8.30pm.
