Tulisa shares statement after wiping Instagram of I’m A Celeb posts
She was also missing from spin-off show I’m A Celebrity... Unpacked
N-Dubz superstar Tulisa certainly entertained as she spent over two weeks in the infamous I’m A Celebrity jungle, until she ultimately became the third celeb to be voted out, leaving her campmates behind as she exited on Monday night (2nd December). Since leaving, however, she didn’t appear on spin-off show Unpacked, and has also wiped her Instagram grid of I’m A Celeb posts.
Also absent from last night’s episode (3rd December), which saw Melvin Odoom exit the camp, the singer has now shared a video to explain and open up to fans. ‘Clearing things up’, the former X Factor judge revealed she felt “overwhelmed”, captioning the post: ‘Just need a little me time 😊🫶🏼💕 be back soon x’. (sic)
Tulisa began: “Hey guys, I'm just doing a little video to clear a few things up. When I first came out of the jungle, I felt fine first of all, and then that evening my friends went to bed and I was on my Instagram, just trying to have a casual scroll at some funny stuff.
“I was getting a lot of attention, a lot of bombarding - in all the most positive way, but because it's been a bit of a while for me, I can get overwhelmed quite easily and I just started to feel a little bit overwhelmed. I thought, ‘do you know what? I need to just take a little bit of time for me and just chill’. This is all just feeling a bit much at the moment.”
Addressing her removing all of her I’m A Celeb content from her Instagram feed, Tulisa continued: “I’m just going to archive all my stuff to do with the jungle, and then when the time is right and I’ve had a little time to process, I’m going to make my own Reels of all my best bits that I really like.”
She then added: “Remember, I haven’t been doing my Instagram. The way everything’s posted, and all the random stuff, is not the way I would do my Insta.” She explained she is planning on uploading “one or two really good Reels relating to the jungle, and bringing together my time in there”.
Explaining that she wanted to clear up her reasoning behind removing the posts, Tulisa then opened up and added she wanted to: “Just be honest, you know? It’s okay to feel a little bit overwhelmed. I’ve been out of the spotlight for a long time, and I’m still trying to overcome those things, I still have my little demons - it doesn’t mean I’m going to go and hide back under a rock for another 10 years. It just means I need a little bit of time to just process and get right with my thoughts.”
The star then thanked ITV and I’m A Celeb for being “understanding and patient”, adding she is “super grateful” for the support she’s had, following her departure from the show that had fans calling out for a recount.
The video then continued with Tulisa clarifying some earlier comments she made on Lorraine, clearing up that she doesn't think any of her campmates are "fake", as she joked: “Typical me just thinking out loud”.
She clarified that individuals in the camp will form closer bonds with some than others, and that when they leave the jungle, we will see those friendships "get nurtured" and people become your "friends for life".
Rounding off the video, Tulisa added that she's going to: "Have a little week just becoming one with my thoughts - I will be back."
