It's safe to say that the nation was well and truly gripped to season two of the hugely popular BBC One show The Traitors, which came to a dramatic conclusion as 23-year-old British Army engineer Harry Clark took home the £95,150 cash prize during Friday's (26th January) final.

Harry joined Sam Thompson on his Hits UK show, where he revealed what he said to his co-star Mollie Pearce after his win, why he applied for the show and how his loved ones have reacted to his time on the show.

Mollie was heartbroken after being in the final two with Harry, where she wrongly believed that he was a Faithful and that they would be splitting the prize money. Explaining what he said after the dramatic moment he had to reveal he was a Traitor, Harry said: "I had said I sort of wanna see her to tell her like I’m sorry, I sort of just ruined your life. I didn’t want to feel like that because I wanted to be so excited, but at the same time I felt guilty.

"So I was kind of like, 'Can I see her?', and then they came to me and said, 'Mollie wants to see you', and I thought, she’s gonna do me in. Like I’m gonna walk in the room and she’s gonna be behind the door, ambush me or something. Take me down, like proper. But as soon as I walked in she was crying but laughing and then hugged me and called me a few names and was like, 'I love and hate you at the same time'.

"But she was amazing because she was just like, 'Look you played the game to a T, as a traitor, and you were one from the start and that must have been so hard'. She was like, The game’s the game at the end of the day and we all knew what we were signing up for'. For her to do that was just amazing because I then sort of felt like I can be excited now, she’s even happy today like she knows that the money dropped and she was there celebrating with me when I saw her earlier."

Despite his incredible tactics on the show, Harry surprisingly told Sam that he'd actually never seen The Traitors before he got a message which said he should apply. Harry said: "I was quite lucky, so I was like messaged about it, someone told me about it. I hadn’t seen it.

"And then all I heard about was the 120 grand, so I was like alright! It’s like life changing money, so why would I not go for it? It’s silly. And then I sort of watched the first few episodes and I was hooked, and I thought I could do this, I can disconnect my emotions. I felt like I had the ability to pull it off and I wanted to be a Traitor from watching it."

Speaking of the prize money, Harry explained that he had just received it, having found out it had landed in his account from his Dad. He added: "I was just in the back of an Uber and had five minutes to myself when I got a ding from my Dad and he was like ‘Mate, look at your bank account.’ My Dad has my bank account because he knows I’m just mental when it comes to money. I opened up the app and the prize money was there - I couldn’t even speak! I told the Uber driver I loved him! It made it feel so real as I’d kept that lie for ages and I didn’t even expect it, it was such a surprise."

Revealing how his loved ones, including his girlfriend Anna Maynard, reacted to his actions on the show, Harry said: "It’s a massive red flag isn’t it? I was going through thinking, 'Is anyone going to trust me again?' When you find like the one you know, they trust you anyway.

"She just knew it was for the show, it was for the money. It’s the same with my family and friends, they laugh about it, I can see they’re looking through me and they go, 'I don’t trust you'. At the same time they’re just doing it as a joke but they’re my closest people. They know me so the reason I do everything is for them They knew that I needed to lie to do it, it’s the game at the end of the day."
