Netflix users hooked on new thriller The Madness
It's the Number 1 show on Netflix right now
Although Christmas films and TV shows seem to be everywhere at the moment, if you fancy a little escape from the festive season, Netflix have recently dropped a brand new thriller series called The Madness which is getting rave reviews.
After being released at the end of November, the eight-episode series is currently the most-watched show on the streaming platform right now, with viewers binging the entire series in just one day.
What is The Madness about?
Created by Stephen Belber, The Madness is a brand new American thriller series following a media pundit called Muncie Daniels, who attempts to clear his name after he stumbles upon a murder in the Poconos.
Netflix say of the plot: 'Muncie Daniels is a political consultant-turned-TV pundit who may have lost his way in life. While on a work sabbatical in the Poconos to write the great American novel, Muncie finds himself the only witness to the murder of a well-known white supremacist, and now he's being framed for the crime.
'Muncie is forced to go on the run in a desperate fight to clear his name and unravel a global conspiracy before time runs out. Along the way he'll reconnect with his family, find unlikely allies, and fight against disinformation in a post-truth age.'

There's no official word yet on whether Netflix will renew The Madness for a second series, but with the early popularity the show has gained, we suspect it could certainly get another instalment.
Lead actor Colman Domingo also recently hinted about a second series during a chat with Deadline, saying: “Listen, I don’t really say this a lot about any show because I like going from moment to moment and having great moments in a show and moving on with my life and doing something else.
“This show, I think there’s more from Muncie. I would really love to engage with a Season 2, so we’ll see if people think he’s got more story in him as well, so I hope people watch.”
Where is it filmed?
Despite the show being set in West Philadelphia, the majority of filming actually took place in Toronto.
