All the movies and TV shows coming to Netflix in 2025

A preview of the platform's year ahead

2024 has certainly been a huge year for streaming platform Netflix! As well as releasing movies such as Society Of The Snow and Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, the platform also introduced users to new series such as Fool Me Once and One Day, as well as delighting us with old classics such as, Selling Sunset, Emily In Paris and Heartstopper.

It's now time to look ahead to 2025, with Netflix promising users some huge new (and old) TV shows and movies, sure to get you all glued to your TV screens!

TV shows coming out on Netflix in 2025:

Fans will be pleased to know shows such as Emily In Paris, You, Wednesday, The Night Agent, Black Mirror and Stranger Things will all return in 2025, as well as new series Missing You and The Residence.

Missing You

Release date: 1st January


Cast: Richard Armitage, James Nesbitt, Jessica Plummer, Sir Lenny Henry and Ashley Walters.


Synopsis: Eleven years ago Detective Kat Donovan's fiancé Josh - the love of her life - disappeared and she's never heard from him since. Now, swiping profiles on a dating app, she suddenly sees his face and her world explodes all over again. Josh's reappearance will force her to dive back into the mystery surrounding her father's murder and uncover long-buried secrets from her past.

American Primeval

Release date: 9th January

Cast: Taylor Kitsch, Betty Gilpin, Dane DeHaan, Saura Lightfoot-Leon, Derek Hinkey and Joe Tippett.

Synopsis: This is America…1857. Up is down, pain is everywhere, innocence and tranquility are losing the battle to hatred and fear. Peace is the shrinking minority, and very few possess grace — even fewer know compassion. There is no safe haven in these brutal lands, and only one goal matters: survival. The Night Agent series 2

Release date: 23rd January

Cast: Gabriel Basso, Luciane Buchanan, Amanda Warren, Berto Colon and Louis Herthum.

Synopsis: Based on the novel by Matthew Quirk, The Night Agent is a sophisticated, character-based, action-thriller centring on a low level FBI Agent who works in the basement of the White House, manning a phone that never rings -- until the night that it does, propelling him into a fast moving and dangerous conspiracy that ultimately leads all the way to the Oval Office.

Toxic Town

Release date: 2025

Cast: Jodie Whittaker, Aimee Lou Wood, Robert Carlyle, Rory Kinnear, Stephen McMillan and Lauren Lyle.

Synopsis: Based on one of the UK's biggest environmental scandals, Toxic Town is the story of the people at the heart of the Corby poisonings. Focusing on the mothers, who took on a David and Goliath battle for justice, the series traces through the years of their fight as a terrible truth comes to the surface.

Bear Hunt

Release date: 2025

Hosts: Holly Willoughby and Bear Grylls.

Synopsis: Holly Willoughby hosts this action-packed competition show that sees a group of unlikely British celebrities dropped into the Central American jungle as prey for one of the world's most fearsome predators – Bear Grylls. Bear believes there's an action hero inside us all - even the celebs - but how strong is their will to survive? As Bear puts them through their paces, those who fail to impress will face the dreaded 'Bear Hunt' – a brutal game of cat and mouse where they'll be hunted down by Bear himself and, if captured, eliminated from the show.

Wednesday series 2

Release date: 2025

Cast: Jenna Ortega, Steve Buscemi, Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Hunter Doohan, Victor Dorobantu, Moosa Mostafa, Isaac Ordonez, Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo, Billie Piper and Georgie Farmer.

Synopsis: The series is a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams' years as a student at Nevermore Academy. Wednesday's attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore.

Adolescence

Release date: 2025

Cast: Stephen Graham, Ashley Walters, Erin Doherty, Owen Cooper.

Synopsis: Adolescence (working title), is a crime drama filmed in an ambitious real-time, one-shot. It tells the story of how a family's world is turned upside down when 13-year-old Jamie Miller (Owen Cooper) is arrested with the murder of a teenage girl who goes to his school. Stephen Graham will play Jamie's father and 'appropriate adult', Eddie Miller. Ashley Walters stars as Detective Inspector Bascombe, and Erin Doherty is Briony Ariston, the clinical psychologist assigned to Jamie's case.

Black Mirror series 7

Release date: 2025

Cast: Unknown

Synopsis: Charlie Brooker's dark, satirical anthology series will return in 2025 with six brand new episodes, including a sequel to the sci-fi adventure USS Callister. USS Callister will return… Robert Daly is dead, but for the crew of the USS Callister, their problems are just beginning.

The Undertow

Release date: 2025

Cast: Jamie Dornan, Mackenzie Davis, Iain de Caestecker and Gary Lewis.

Synopsis: Jamie Dornan will play the roles of identical twins, Adam and Lee, whilst Mackenzie Davis will play Adam's wife Nicola. The series is based on the Nordisk Film Production AS television series Twin, created by Kristoffer Metcalfe. The adaptation will be produced by Complete Fiction and wiip. Production started in The Scottish Highlands in 2024.

You series 5

Release date: 2025

Cast: Penn Badgley, Charlotte Ritchie, Madeline Brewer, Griffin Matthews, Nava Mau, Anna Camp.

Synopsis: Will Joe Goldberg finally get his judgment day? Fans of the beloved thriller will soon know more about Joe's fate when YOU returns for a fifth and final season.

Squid Game: The Challenge series 2

Release date: 2025

Synopsis: 456 real players will enter the competition show in pursuit of a life-changing reward of USD $4.56 million. As they compete through a series of games inspired by the original show - plus surprising new additions - their strategies, alliances, and character will be put to the test while competitors are eliminated around them.

How to Get to Heaven from Belfast

Release date: 2025

Cast: Roísín Gallagher, Sinéad Keenan, Caoilfhionn Dunne.

Synopsis: Clever, chaotic TV writer Saoirse, glamorous, stressed-out mother of three Robyn, and dependable, inhibited carer Dara have been a tight-knit group since school. Stranger Things series 5

Monsters series 3

Synopsis: Following the massive success of DAHMER - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, Netflix ordered two additional instalments of the record-breaking anthology series from Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan. The next 'Monster' anthology will focus on Ed Gein - with Charlie Hunnam as the titular character.

Love Is Blind: UK series 2

Release date: 2025

Hosts: Emma and Matt Willis.

Synopsis: UK singles who want to be loved for who they are have signed up for a less-conventional approach to modern dating, and will choose someone to marry without ever meeting them. Over several weeks, the newly engaged couples will move in together, plan their wedding and find out if their physical connection matches their strong emotional bond developed in the Pods. When their wedding day arrives, will real-world realities and external factors push them apart, or will they marry the person they fell blindly in love with? Hosted by Emma and Matt Willis, this series will uncover whether looks, race or age do matter, or if love really is blind.

House of VB

Bank of Dave: The Loan Ranger

Release date: January

Cast: Rory Kinnear, Chrissy Metz, Jo Hartley, Amit Shah, Def Leppard, Pearce Quigley Leila Farzad and Dan Fogler.

Synopsis: Based on a true-ish story - two years after founding Britain's very first community bank, Dave Fishwick takes on an even more dangerous and formidable opponent than the big banks – Payday Loan Companies. Dave recruits Jessica, an American investigative reporter, and Oliver, a local Citizen's Advice counsellor, to his cause. Together they embark on a journey that will eventually take them to the United States and help bring down an entire industry of predatory corporations.

Havoc

Cast: Tom Hardy, Jessie Mei Li, Justin Cornwell, Quelin Sepulveda, Luis Guzmán, Michelle Waterson, Sunny Pang, Jim Caesar, Xelia Mendes-Jones with Yeo Yann Yann, with Timothy Olyphant, and Forest Whitaker.

Steve

Cast: Cillian Murphy.

Synopsis: A headteacher of a last-chance reform school struggles to keep his students in line, while also grappling with his own spiralling mental health. A reimagining of Max Porter's novel Shy, Steve traces a pivotal 24 hours in the life of its titular character.

The Thursday Murder Club

Release date: 2025

Cast: Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Sir Ben Kingsley, Celia Imrie, Naomi Ackie, Daniel Mays, Jonathan Pryce, David Tennant, Henry Lloyd-Hughes, Tom Ellis, Richard E Grant, Geoff Bell, Ingrid Oliver and Paul Freeman.

Synopsis: Based on Richard Osman's international bestselling novel of the same name, The Thursday Murder Club follows four irrepressible retirees - Elizabeth (Helen Mirren), Ron (Pierce Brosnan), Ibrahim (Ben Kingsley) and Joyce (Celia Imrie) - who spend their time solving cold case murders for fun. When an unexplained death occurs on their own doorstep, their causal sleuthing takes a thrilling turn as they find themselves with a real whodunit on their hands. Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery

Frankenstein

Cast: Oscar Isaac, Jacob Elordi, Mia Goth, Felix Kammerer, Lars Mikkelsen, David Bradley, with Charles Dance, and Christoph Waltz.

Synopsis: Oscar-winning director Guillermo del Toro adapts Mary Shelley's classic tale of Victor Frankenstein, a brilliant but egotistical scientist who brings a creature to life in a monstrous experiment that ultimately leads to the undoing of both the creator and his tragic creation.
