What is MobLand about?
Directed by Guy Ritchie, the man behind Snatch and The Gentlemen, MobLand is set in contemporary London and is a classic gangster drama which tells the story of two crime families, the Harrigans and the Stevensons.
The official plot for MobLand states: 'Power is up for grabs as two warring crime families clash in a battle that threatens to topple empires and ruin lives. In the crossfire stands Harry Da Souza, a street-smart ‘fixer’ who knows too well where loyalties lie when opposing forces collide'.
Is Pierce Brosnan Irish?
Pierce Brosnan OBE, famed for roles in blockbusters such as James Bond, Mamma Mia!, and The Foreigner, is Irish, despite many fans of MobLand mocking him for his 'Irish accent' in the series.
Pierce was born in Drogheda in 1953 and lived in Navan for 12 years, before moving to London where he attended secondary school, and later studied at the Drama Centre London for three years.
Despite his Irish roots, fans believe Pierce has lost his accent and appears to speak with a more 'British twang'.
Speaking about the backlash he's received on MobLand, Pierce told Radio Times: "My own accent is very soft. Conrad's accent is a million miles away from me."
Adding he worked with a dialect coach, he added: "I told him that I needed a Kerry accent, so he gave me the name of a man and I googled the guy and that was it. It was a Kerry accent and so I just gave it full tilt."
Going on to explain the anxiety he had about the role, he added: "Every job is a challenge and it all comes with a thump of anxiety, because you have to do something.
"What are you doing on the stage? Why are you there? So that's constant. You live with that. You live with that stress all the time, and that's what's so exhilarating.
"That's what makes you alive."
