Love Island: Amber's mum gives her verdict on whether she'll reunite with Michael
She knows her daughter better than anyone!
Love Island's Amber Gill has been at the centre of a pretty controversial week - after being coupled up briefly with firefighter Michael Griffiths, the pair split and things ended less than amicably.
After Michael's other half Joanna Chimonides was dumped from the Love Island villa earlier this week, fans were left unhappy with him after thinking he 'treated her like a dog' - but some viewers are still wondering whether they pair will reunite.
However, Amber's mum Vanessa and best friend Martin appeared on This Morning earlier today - and poured cold water on any rumours about the pair getting back together.
Vanessa said, "I don’t think she’ll go back with him, I hope she doesn’t. Because of the whole way I think he’s played it. He hasn’t been upfront with her. He’s been a little bit holding himself back, I don’t know whether he’s playing a little bit of a game.
"But I think he should’ve been honest with her when she opened up her feelings to him when they went to that night out."
Martin added, "If Michael really had those feelings for Joanna, he would’ve just walked the other night. And I just thought 'Why are you staying?'," before adding that he agrees with viewers that Amber and Ovie could win the show as friends, calling him "lovely".
After Martin speculated over a romantic connection between the pair, saying that her and Michael started off slowly, Vanessa commented, "She is a slow burner and I think it takes time for her to warm up to somebody and given time I think she probably will with Ovie, because he’s just been so respectful. He’s supported her 100%."
On whether they think new bombshell Greg could be good for Amber, Martin said, "I’m not so sure," but Vanessa felt more confident, "If he makes her laugh, because that’s what she likes, she likes the banter. So fingers crossed there might be something there."
