Love Island fans gutted as OG Alima is dumped in brutal twist
Nobody saw this coming!
The drama is showing no signs of slowing down on this year’s Love Island, as bosses have cranked things up a notch for the 12th series, with fans calling it "the best in years."
While viewers are hooked on the love triangle between Helena, Shakira, and Harry, and the ongoing tension between Toni and Harrison (thanks to Helena), last night’s episode (Wednesday 2nd July) delivered yet another major twist...
Following the arrival of new bombshells Billykiss and Ryan, Tommy received a text asking the group to gather around the firepit, with the Islanders expecting yet another recoupling.
However, it wasn't just any old recoupling, as Billykiss and Ryan were asked to stand up...
After another unexpected text hit the villa, the boys were asked to stand if they wanted to recouple with Billykiss. Northern Irish lad Connor was the only one to rise, fresh off his date with the content creator the day before. Since Connor had been in a friendship couple with Alima, she was asked to swap places with Billykiss at the front, setting the stage for yet more villa drama...
Unfortunately for new boy Ryan, none of the girls opted to stand for him, meaning he was left standing alone.
HOWEVER, whilst we all thought this would mean Ryan and Alima would couple up, another text revealed the shocking news that both Islanders had been DUMPED, leaving the group in tears.
Viewers were quick to express their shock and disappointment at original Islander Alima's departure. One said: 'BRING ALIMA BACK RIGHT NOW!!!!!!', with another adding: 'Alima deserves the world and more! Definitely the best girl this season period'. (sic)
Another added: 'Alima should still be there. What’s the point of bombshells for one night', with somebody else commenting: 'ALIMA was the winner on her own'. (sic)
Following her shock departure, Alima spoke with Love Island bosses where she revealed how she was feeling. She said: "It’s a mix of emotions, I’ve been there since the start so it’s bittersweet but at the same time I just can’t wait to wear no make up for days and weeks now."
The 23-year-old from Glasgow also spoke about which couples she's rooting for, saying: "Meg and Dejon! I think at the start he was acting up a bit but as the weeks go by you can really tell he cares when he says ‘my Meg’.
"Also Emily and Tommy, because Tommy is the nicest man I’ve ever met in my life. Every time I walk by him in the garden or kitchen I say Tommy they don’t make men like you any more! He’s been crafted out of the sixties. You can tell he’s been raised very well, so praise to his parents!"
