I'm A Celeb viewers accuse bosses of making trials 'too easy'
"Just me that thinks I’m a celeb is very easy this year?"
Of course, with the show being filmed in a castle in North Wales this year, instead of the usual jungle in Australia, there was always going to be a lot of differences for the 2020 series of I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.
But despite the series being widely loved by viewers, and the launch show breaking viewing records with a massive 14.3 million tuning in, some fans have accused bosses of making this year's trials 'too easy'.
In most of the nasty trials so far, which have been carried out by the likes of AJ Pritchard, Vernon Kay, Jordan North and Beverley Callard, more or less all stars have been found, meaning the camp ate very well in the first nine days.
After witnessing Strictly's AJ and EastEnders actress Jessica Plummer take part in a trial called 'Harm-ory' on Monday night's show, many believed hosts Ant and Dec were giving them a little too much guidance on the location of the stars.
Following this trial and a number of others so far, viewers have taken to Twitter to express their opinion on the difficulty of the trials.
One fan wrote, 'I love I’m a celeb but they have had everything too easy and early this season. Not as good as when in the jungle #ImACeleb', with another adding, 'Earth worms, I’m a celeb, earth worms. Really? #imacelebrity this series is too easy'. (sic)
Another wrote, 'I am sorry but they got it EASY on I’m a celeb this year!!! Where is the crocodile foot for dinner????? Where is the scorpion in the eating trail???? Disappointed'. (sic)
A user with the name Jade then wrote, 'Just me that thinks I’m a celeb is very easy this year, like cmon Chuck some spiders in there or sommet, something we r actually scared of not pigeons'. (sic)
Check out all the wages for this year's I'm A Celeb camp mates:
Sir Mo Farah: ÂŁ300,000
With all of his amazing success in the sporting world, it's no surprise Sir Mo Farah cost bosses the most to land on the 2020 series.
He is an Olympian after all!
Vernon Kay: ÂŁ250,000
Bosses have reportedly been trying to get TV host Vernon on the show for a number of years, but this year they managed to entice him with a whopping pay cheque.
Beverley Callard: ÂŁ150,000
Coronation Street legend Beverley is reportedly the highest paid woman on this year's series, and it's not a bad little (big) figure either!
Shane Richie: Unknown
Despite Shane's I'm A Celeb fee not being made public, the former EastEnders actor confessed he was 'broke' after a tough 2020 due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Russell Watson: ÂŁ100,000
He was a late arrival into this year's series, but tenor Russell is still getting paid VERY well. The opera legend is reportedly picking up ÂŁ100K for his stint.
Jessica Plummer: ÂŁ75,000
Bosses reportedly enticed EastEnders actress Jessica into the Welsh castle with a tasty ÂŁ75,000.
Giovanna Fletcher: Unknown
Ruthie Henshall: ÂŁ75,000
She was a late arrival alongside Russell Watson, but already she's had her fair share of trials and secret missions! The West End star and Magic at the Musicals host was reportedly paid a lovely ÂŁ75,000.
AJ Pritchard: ÂŁ50,000
After quitting his former role as a professional dancer on Strictly Come Dancing earlier this year, AJ is reportedly taking home ÂŁ50K for his appearance in the castle.
Jordan North: Unknown
Hollie Arnold MBE: ÂŁ50,000
She's used to winning Gold medals not Gold stars, but a fee of ÂŁ50,000 reportedly got Hollie Arnold MBE into the castle! And after showing off her amazing singing voice, maybe she will leave with a record deal on the table too!
Victoria Derbyshire: Unknown
However, despite some of the complaints, it looks like the 2020 series of the popular show has certainly been a hit with most viewers. ITV today revealed the launch show, which aired on Sunday 15th November, received a massive 14.3 million viewers making it the most-watched in 18 years!
Meanwhile, on Tuesday night's show, EastEnders legend Shane Ritchie will take part in his first solo trial as he attempts to win meals for camp in 'Cruel Jewels'.
I'm A Celeb airs every night on ITV.
