Netflix's huge new release House of Guinness tells "the epic story of one of Europe's most famous and enduring dynasties; the Guinness family" — and the series has been given an equally epic cast. From Happy Valley's James Norton to Masters of the Air's Anthony Boyle, the cast features many faces you're bound to have seen on your telly before.

Written by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight, House of Guinness was released in September 2025, and fans are already crying out for more. While we wait for news of a second series, here's who's in the cast, and what they've been in before...

Who is in the cast?

Anthony Boyle as Arthur Guinness

You might recognise Anthony Boyle from World War II drama Masters of the Air, in which he plays US Air Force navigator, Major Harry Crosby. Or perhaps the hilarious teen sitcom, Derry Girls, where he played Erin Quinn's love interest, David Donnolly. He also had a small part in Game of Thrones, as a guard. Anthony now plays eldest son, Arthur Guinness in House of Guinness.

Louis Partridge as Edward Guinness

Edward Guinness is played by Louis Partridge, known mainly for his role in mystery movie franchise, Enola Holmes. Louis played wealthy young viscount, Tewkesbury, alongside Stranger Things actress, Millie Bobby Brown, who plays his love interest. Louis also had small parts in family favourites Pan and Paddington 2.

Fionn O’Shea as Benjamin Guinness

You might recognise Fionn O'Shea from the huge romantic drama, Normal People, released in 2020. He portrayed Jamie, a jealous boyfriend of protagonist Marianne (Daisy Edgar Jones) and romantic rival to Connell (Paul Mescal). He's also been in Masters of the Air alongside Anthony Boyle, and 2020 romcom, Dating Amber. He plays Benjamin Guinness in the new Netflix series, a son troubled by addiction.

Emily Fairn as Anne Plunket

The only Guinness daughter, Anne Plunket is played by Emily Fairn, who is clearly quite a versatile actor. Recently playing a young Liverpudlian woman consumed by drugs in The Responder as well as a police detective in sci-fi drama Black Mirror, Emily has also shown her ability to nail a range of different accents. She was actually born in Liverpool.

James Norton as Sean Rafferty

Ahh a face which has popped up quite a bit recently... James Norton is best known for his recent roles in Happy Valley, where he played villain Tommy Lee Royce, and Playing Nice, in which he's a father consumed by the discovery his child had been swapped at birth. James also appeared in Granchester from 2014-2019, alongside Robson Green and the 2019 movie adaption of Little Women, among many other things. In House of Guinness, James plays brewery foreman, Sean Rafferty.

Seamus O'Hara as Edward Cochrane

Seamus O'Hara recently appeared in popular police drama Blue Lights, playing publican Lee Thompson in a town blighted by drugs and unrest. He's also had a few smaller parts in popular shows, Game of Thrones (as a commoner called Fergus) and Line of Duty (as a police officer). Seamus has been cast as Edward Cochrane in House of Guinness, a character fixated on bringing down the Guinness dynasty.

Niamh McCormack as Ellen Cochrane

Niamh McCormack most notably played elven sorceress, Lara Dorren, in The Witcher, but is also known for her parts in family movie, The Magic Flute (as musician Sophie) and Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves, in which she played a Rogue contestant. Niamh has been cast as Ellen Cochrane, sister to Patrick and supporter of the same cause.

Jack Gleeson as Byron Hedges

Game of Thrones fans are bound to recognise this famous face. Actor Jack Gleeson is probably best known for playing the ruthless Joffrey Baratheon in the fantasy drama. One of the most unlikeable characters of the whole series, Jack received huge praise for his portrayal of the character, even making it into a number of 'Greatest TV Villains of All Time' lists. More recently, he played "Dodgy" Mo in Sex Education, a stoner who is friends with Sean Wiley.

Dervla Kirwan as Aunt Agnes Guinness

You might recognise the actress behind Aunt Agnes Guinness from Doctor Who, Torchwood or popular 90s sitcom, Goodnight Sweetheart. Disguising her Irish accent, Dervla Kirwan played Cockney landlady Phoebe in Goodnight Sweetheart — who you may remember as time-travelling Gary Sparrow's 1940s love interest. Dervla's also appeared in many other shows throughout her career, including Irish TV drama Ballykissangel, where she played Assumpta Fitzgerald.
