Key 103 Breakfast presenter Gemma Atkinson took a break from the show this morning to appear on morning chat show Lorraine to discuss her Emmerdale career.

Gemma appeared on the show with her Emmerdale co-star Mark Charnock, who plays Marlon Dingle, and teased fans about her character Carly Hope's upcoming story lines.

On last night's episode, viewers witnessed Carly freeze when Marlon's daughter April started to choke on a sweet.

After Marlon stepped in to save his daughter, memories came flooding back for Carley after previously losing her baby Billy to cot death.

Speaking on Lorraine about the scene, Gemma said, "It’s terrifying even when we filmed it, it was horrible to watch."

Gemma also teased fans about whether or not her character is set to leave the soap. When asked the question by Lorraine, Gemma added, "She’s one of those people that instead of facing a problem, she just runs from them."

“We’re dying for Marlon to say come back and we’ll make it work."

Gemma also spoke about the Key 103 Breakfast show on the programme. Admitting she leaves the Key 103 studio to travel straight to Emmerdale every day, Mark revealed he often gets the 'weary' Gemma when she arrives in Leeds for filming.

Sorry Mark! 🙈
