Tracy Metcalfe's surprise party for her doesn't go plan

Tracy Metcalfe has been meticulously planning Vanessa Woodfield's surprise birthday party on Emmerdale, so when Charity Dingle arrives demanding she cancels it at the last minute, Tracy isn't impressed.

Soon a desperate Charity blurts out the truth – that Vanessa Woodfield has been diagnosed with cancer.

Vanessa is hurt that Charity has told Tracy before she can, and soon tensions boil over who can support Vanessa the most.

Elsewhere, Jai Sharma wants Laurel and Arthur Thomas to move in with him and Archie, but Laurel is struggling to keep Arthur's secret.

Cain Dingle is shocked when Will Taylor tells him about DI Malone's dodgy dealings. Taking matters into his own hands, Cain is unprepared for Malone's sinister ways.

Elsewhere, Luke Posner wants Victoria Sugden to give their relationship another go, and Andrea Tate realises she might have to play dirty to get the truth out of Kim Tate.

Still coming to terms with Vanessa's diagnosis, Charity is trying to comfort Vanessa when her thoughts turn to Tracy's surprise party for her.

Panicking, Charity heads over to Tracy's house and tries to convince her to abandon the party - but Tracy isn't biting. Soon Charity blurts out that Vanessa has cancer.

Stunned, Tracy relents and tries to quickly get everyone out but before she can Vanessa arrives and puts on a brave face as everyone shouts 'Surprise!'.

But when Vanessa learns that Charity has told Tracy about her diagnosis before she can, Vanessa feels betrayed. Storming from the party, Tracy follows Vanessa and Charity is left worried.

Later on, Vanessa opens up to Tracy about her cancer diagnosis and why she wanted to keep it a secret. As they talk, Charity feels sidelined.

Fearing she's being shut out, Charity lashes out at Tracy and soon things are at boiling point – leaving an already exhausted Vanessa to try and build bridges between them.

After what happened between them last week, Luke wants Victoria to give their relationship another go. But with them both working at The Woolpack, is it a good idea?

Elsewhere, Laurel and Jai discuss taking their relationship to the next level. But after Arthur confesses to his mum about hurting Archie, he begs her not to tell Jai.

When Jai asks Laurel and Arthur to move in with him and Archie, their secret eats away at her. Arthur decides he wants to confess to Jai himself but, forseeing carnage, Laurel stops him from coming clean.

With it all agreed upon, Laurel lets herself believe everything will turn out well and the two leave Archie and Arthur to play. But after hearing an almighty crash from the other room, Laurel and Jai rush in to find a cabinet has fallen on Archie.

Arthur is adamant the accident had nothing to do with him, but a disbelieving Laurel reveals the truth to Jai in fury. Seeing what's going on, Archie plays along and insists that Arthur pushed the cabinet.

Meanwhile, Cain decides it's time to have a word with Will after discovering the package hidden in DI Malone's car, and to his surprise Will comes clean about everything going on with Malone.

Cain decides to go and confront Malone but it soon becomes clear he's underestimated him when he returns home from their meeting to find the garage trashed and Moira's bull murdered.

When "Detective Inspector" Malone arrives at the garage later to investigate and questions Cain about whether anyone might hold a grudge against him, an unnerved Cain is chilled to the bone.

At the café, Cathy and Heath's vegan cakes and cookies are going down a treat with customers but soon things take a turn for the worse when Dan becomes unwell.

Realising he's having an allergic reaction, Brenda can't help but feel concerned – but soon it starts to seem like Brenda might be responsible.

Elsewhere, Dan and Mandy agree to go on a date together.

Samson finds a way to fund his trip but at what expense?

Andrea realises she might have to play dirty to get the truth out of Kim.
