Coronation Street CONFIRM there's a twist in Sally Metcalfe's tale of fraud

Later, David shows Audrey the empty premises on Victoria Street and reveals that he and Nick are going to open up a barber shop.

Tim tells Sophie that because of him, Duncan was hit by a car and is now in hospital after sustaining serious injuries. Sophie heads to the hospital, and is shocked to see Duncan's 'dead' wife May

Sophie quickly takes a sly picture to send to Tim, before approaching May. She pretends to be a neighbour and tells May that Duncan has been moved to another hospital, and offers to drive her there.

Having received Sophie's picture message, Tim threatens Duncan with exposure if he doesn't do as they say. But Duncan is sticking to his story.

Exasperated, Tim calls Sophie back to get May on the phone, but as she takes the call May catches on, and quickly runs from the car.

But she's intercepted by Gina at the tram stop, who implores her to tell the truth.

Meanwhile, Sally is still struggling in prison. Already on bad terms with prison dealer Marcia, it's not long before she gets violent and pulls a knife on Sally.

Desperate to make up for disbelieving his wife, Tim hits out at Gina and Imran for their part in Sally's wrongful incarceration.

Daniel and Sinead finally get her test results – and it's not good news. The cancer has spread and she needs radiotherapy immediately, and so will have to deliver the baby today.

Hearing of the progression, their friends and family rally round to the throw and impromptu baby shower for Sinead. But, feeling overwhelmed, Daniel slinks away halfway through.

With Daniel by her side, Sinead delivers a baby boy, but soon after passes out on the delivery table. Daniel looks on, the future of his family hanging in the balance.

Later on, in the neonatal unit, Daniel is joined by Ken. Admitting he's scared, Ken hugs him close and tells him he'll be a great dad.

The new parents decide to name their son Bertie, after Uncle Albert. But a nurse takes Daniel aside and explains that baby Bertie has a bowel condition.

Sinead eventually comes round to Daniel by her bedside. When she asks how her baby is doing, Daniel lies and says that he's perfect, not wanting to cause her any more stress.

Nick puts his foot in it when a picture of a diamond necklace he buys for Leanne makes it's way to social media. Elsa tells Nick she's seen the necklace, and is putting their divorce on hold as he clearly has more money than he's letting on.

But Leanne grows suspicious, realising Nick is hiding something from her – especially since Toyah let's slip that a woman has been ringing the house phone asking after him...

Eventually, Nick comes clean to Leanne. He is honest, explaining the Elsa has seen the necklace and so reduced her settlement offer. Leanne is apologetic.

The Barlow's have arrived home from their holiday in Tenerife, and Steve is on cloud 9 – but Tracy's exhausted from his constant sexual demands.

Beth plants the idea in Tracy's head that talk of babies is an excellent libido killer. But after a warning from Mary, Tracy is worried her plan will backfire.

During date night at the Bistro, Tracy and Steve discuss baby plans, and both come to the agreement that neither of them are ready to start trying.

But later on, Tracy's concerns are realised when Steve goes back on his word and presents her with a pregnancy test! It's time to weigh up the pros and cons.

Meanwhile, Rana's divorce from Zeedan is finalised and she can't help feeling a little sad. But Kate is excited – this means they can finally get married.

A devastated Audrey summons Claudia, David, Maria and Gail to explain that she'll have to sell her salon to pay for the dry rot in her house, and asks Claudia if she'd be interested in buying her share of the business.

But David is furious that Audrey has sold out to Claudia, and despite his job being safe tells Claudia where to stick it.
