Major Coronation Street character to be held at GUNPOINT in dramatic scenes

Coronation Street have revealed that one of their biggest characters is going to face losing their life in an upcoming episode - Peter Barlow. His son, Simon Barlow, has been caught up in the nasty doings of a local gang, who are set to make his life even worse after he escapes prison time for his part in the recent burglary of Flora McArdle.
Leader of the gang, Tyler Jefferies, almost killed the elderly lady during the break-in after throwing a jewellery box at her head - and Simon will have to choose whether to speak out against the bully in court or not.
The terrifying experience seems to have given Simon the shake-up he needed, as he pleaded guilty in court - but dad Peter will be forced to step in and defend his son after Tyler seeks revenge on Simon.
The young lad will reportedly be kidnapped by a group of masked men - but thankfully, Kate Connor is able to step in and save him from being taken away, according to Metro.co.uk.

But things get worse, as a car will apparently pull up outside Underworld with a gun pointing directly at Peter, who is unable to move. A shot is fired - but will it kill Peter Barlow? Or will he dive out of the way? Will the horrific situation help Carla realise how she really feels about her ex?
Whether he lives or dies, there's apparently much more to come from Tyler as he wreaks havoc on the cobbles following the court case.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm.
