Coronation Street spoilers: Debbie Webster's WARNING to Abi Franklin
She's never been one to mince her words
Next week on Coronation Street, Kevin Webster's protective big sister Debbie Webster is back in Weatherfield and has some words of warning for Kevin's girlfriend Abi Franklin who has a dark history with drug abuse.
Meanwhile, Abi's got her own protector in Peter Barton who's determined to get her help, but Carla Connor worries about their relationship developing.
Elsewhere, Gemma Winter has managed to keep her surprise birthday party for her twin Paul Forman a secret and he's thrilled with her efforts. But things soon turn sour when Billy Mahew can't come because he's helping Sean Tilly search for Todd.
Daniel Osbourne struggles to form a connecting with Nicky's friend Cherry online, and it looks like Geoff Metcalfe could be convinced to sell his half of Speed Dahl after all.
CHECK OUT: Coronation Street Monday 24 - Friday 28 August:
Peter pays a visit to Abi to see how she's feeling following her accident. As he knocks on the door, Abi stuffs a bottle of pain meds down the side of the sofa and insists she's taken nothing from the hospital.
Peter arrives home and tells Carla that he's confiscated some prescription pain medication from Abi's, worried she's abusing it.
A concerned Carla warns Peter not to get too involved helping Abi because it wasn't that long ago that she was in love with him.
Peter agrees but later on lies to Carla about going to meet Abi. Abi confronts him about taking the bottle and Peter convinces her to attend a support meeting with him.
Meanwhile, Kevin's sister Debbie arrives at the house, determined to make an effort with Abi but not trusting her motives.
It's the evening of the meeting and with Kevin out at work, Debbie offers to cook a meal and Abi feels caught out, not wanting to be rude.
Debbie warns Abi against mucking her brother around and Abi insists she never would, but when Abi darts off as soon as she's finished eating Debbie is suspicious.
Elsewhere, with Nicky refusing to speak to him Daniel arranges a cam chat with Nicky's friend Cherry who he met through her.
As they chat, Cherry's clearly got business on the mind as she launches into a sexy routine but is taken aback when Dan wants to talk about Bertie.
As Dan prattles on, it's clear that Cherry is bored and he ends the call, determining he has to have Nicky back in his life .
Daniel arrives at the Bistro where Nicky is meeting with clients and offers to pay double for her time, but Nicky is fuming that Dan has embarrassed her.
Meanwhile, Alya breaks the news to Yasmeen that Elaine has gone missing and won't be able to give evidence, but Yasmeen is more worried about her friend.
In the street, Alya confronts Geoff about Elaine's whereabouts but a cornered Geoff is giving nothing away.
Witnessing the exchange, Faye suggests to Geoff it might be better to sell his half of Speed Dahl after all to cut ties with this terrible family.
It's Gemma and Paul's 30th birthday and Paul calls round hoping she's changed her mind about celebrating together.
But Gemma is still insistent she's too busy, leaving Paul more convinced than ever that she's depressed again. Paul heads out on a contemplative walk.
Arriving back home, Paul is alerted to shouting from outside and looks out of his window to see Gemma holding up a cake and wishing him happy birthday!
Paul heads over to number five and is thrilled that Gemma has thrown them a surprise birthday party, and even sourced a signed PJ & Duncan record.
With the party in full swing, Billy is nowhere to be found as Sean's search for Todd is proving to be fruitless and the pair head to the police station.
Sean and Billy report Todd as a missing person and Billy arrives late to the party, insisting he's not interested in Todd but needed to support his friend.
With Todd officially registered as a missing person, Sean is glued to his phone as he trawls the database, much to Billy's dismay.
When Sean reads that an unidentified man's body has been found down by the river he's distraught, convinced that it's Todd.
But first up, let's recap on what's happening this week...
In true soap style, the path of true love is awash with obstacles on the morning of the big day… Both the bride and groom are late, David Platt sticks his beak in, and, having clocked the looks Sarah and Gary have been giving each other, he urges Gary to think twice before putting a ring on it with Maria if it’s actually Sarah he’s still in love with.
Viewers will have to wait to see if this pair do get hitched, and whether Gary will be whisking his beloved off on honeymoon (we hear Beacon Woods is nice…)
Across the cobbles, after weeks of thinking about it over, Abi Franklin finally calls the social worker and is delighted she's allowed to meet with the twins Charlie and Lexi to say goodbye before they leave for Australia.
But a freak accident at the garage traps her arm, and when she doesn't show up for their meeting a furious Seb Franklin assumes she's let them down - again.
Elsewhere, Paul Forman's 30th is approaching but he's put out when both Billy Mayhew and Gemma Winter are 'too busy' to celebrate with him.
Worried his sister is unwell again, Paul speaks to Bernie Winter and Cathy Matthews but Gemma reveals there's something else on her mind.
Tim Metcalfe and Sally Webster go to live with Gina Sneddon to get away from Geoff Metcalfe and Sarah Platt and Gary Windass have some decisions to make.
