Now that we no longer have Big Brother on our screens, and Love Island 2020 has been postponed, we have been holding out for some positive reality TV news! Well, it appears you are in luck, as Channel 4 confirmed their social media style game-show has been renewed for a third series, including a special Celebrity version.
The show, which is presented by The Voice UK host Emma Willis, will return to our TV screens in 2021, with a week-long celebrity version to kick the series off in aid of Stand Up To Cancer, and now the celeb line-up has been 'revealed'.
Check out the rumoured line-up for The Celebrity Circle below:
Charlotte Crosby
After announcing her return to Geordie Shore, it's claimed that Charlotte Crosby has signed up for The Circle's celebrity special. It certainly seems possible as the 30-year-old recently returned to Instagram after a short break and told fans, 'I'm back from a little off the radar project.'
Sam Thompson and Pete Wicks
Made in Chelsea's Sam Thompson reportedly entered The Circle following his shock split from Zara McDermott. That's one way to get over your heartbreak... It's thought he was joined by BFF Pete Wicks after Sam thanked the TOWIE star for 'putting up with me for the past week'.
Baga Chipz
It's thought that drag queen Baga Chipz, who rose to fame on the first series of RuPaul's Drag Race UK, has signed up for The Circle after teasing a number of exciting TV projects earlier this year.
Saffron Barker
She's no stranger to social media after amassing over 2million subscribers on YouTube so vlogger turned Strictly star Saffron Barker could be one to watch if she enters The Circle.
Denise Van Outen
She's rumoured to take part in next year's Dancing On Ice but Celebrity Gogglebox star Denise Van Outen is also reportedly set to star on The Circle.
Nadia Sawalha
Loose Women panellist Nadia Sawalha is another telly star that has reportedly been snapped up for the first ever celebrity series of The Circle.
Although it's not yet been officially revealed which celebs will be taking part, Channel 4 are now on the look out for contestants for series three, with people being urged to apply online.
Of course, if you've watched series one and two of the popular show, you'll be aware the concept involves contestants living apart in separate rooms of a Manchester apartment block, only meeting each other via a social media platform named 'The Circle'.
However, the big twist of the show is that contestants can either choose to be themselves, or play the role of a made up person, in turn 'catfishing' their fellow participants.
Channel 4’s Gilly Greenslade, said, “When we were developing the series three years ago, I knew it would reflect how we live but I never expected it to be quite so prophetic.
“Now many more of us have had a taste of living our lives isolated and online, I am excited to see the strategies and tactics that the new players bring to the game.
“I hope that this show will bring some much-needed joy and hilarity to our TV screens.”
Series one, which first aired back in September 2018, was won by 26-year-old Alex Hobern, who played the game as a 25-year-old called Kate, using photos of his real-life girlfriend Millie to fool his fellow contestants.
Then, in 2019, Paddy Smyth won the show, with 59-year-old Tim Wilson being crowned the 'viewers champion'.
The Circle series three is set to air in 2021.
Of course, the new celebrity version won't be the first time famous faces have taken part in The Circle. Former host of This Morning, Richard Madeley appeared a special guest in 2019, playing the role of lady called Judy.
Richard was eventually blocked in Episode 6 by the influencers, and he chose to reward Georgina with immunity.
