Following the fast-paced launch show on Sunday night (8th October), Big Brother fans sat down to watch to drama from the last 24 hours unfold on Monday night (9th October), but the show kicked off with some very important scenes.

As well as Farida starting a discussion about Halal food, 18-year-old Hallie bravely opened up to the group that she's a transgender women, leading the group to create Big Brother history by addressing their pronouns.

Following Hallie's reveal, it prompted Scottish dancer Olivia to suggest the contestants go around the table and state how they'd like to be addressed, with all of them saying either she/her and he/him.

Upon seeing the moment on their screens, viewers and fans of the show took to social media to praise the group.

One fan wrote: 'Housemates respectfully discussing their pronouns, even JUST since the last series of Big Brother we have moved on so far. And no other TV show would broadcast such normal, humane interactions! It’s good to be back - #BBUK needs a place in this world'. (sic)

Another added: 'This wasn't forced by big brother, this happened organically when a contestant came out at trans. This is a reflection of British society and how the majority of people respond to discussing pronouns. It was a lovely moment.'

A third wrote: 'Getting emotional watching everyone being supportive of hallie and going round the room saying their pronouns, it’s literally that easy and not a big deal. I love big brother'. (sic)

Another commented: 'The pronouns moment on big brother was so beautiful to see, and shows modern day of a group of people accepting each other ❤️'. (sic)

The 18-year-old later revealed if she wins the £100,000 prize money she will have gender-affirming surgery, resulting in her fellow housemates asking about her experiences so far, something she was happy to address.
