Benidorm creator Derren Little reveals 'misunderstanding' over his 'final show' tweet
Series 10 came to an end last night
Fans of ITV sitcom Benidorm were left devastated earlier this week when the show's creator Derren Litten seemed to confirm that the current series would be the last. However, it looks like he's now changed his mind!
Taking to Twitter ahead of the series 10 finale, Derren wrote, 'Taking to Twitter, Derren wrote, 'Crazy to think Wednesday will be the last episode of Benidorm! I created the series over 11 years ago, wrote it, guest starred in it and ended up directing it. It's difficult to think what else there is to do! Thank you for watching! #MuchasGracias 🌴'. sic
The tweet had fans everywhere despairing that they'd seen the last of Benidorm, however it seems that there's been a bit of a misunderstanding. Derren has pointed out that he didn't say that this is the last episode ever and was just bidding the series goodbye for now. However he has admitted that he didn't correct those who assumed wrongly.
So does this mean good news for Benidorm fans? Sadly we're not sure as it will still be down to ITV to decide if it will come back, however there is a live stage tour planned.
Benidorm Live will star Jake Canuso (Mateo), Janine Duvitski (Jacqueline), Adam Gillen (Liam), Sherrie Hewson (Joyce Temple-Savage), Shelley Longworth (Sam) and Tony Maudsley (Kenneth).
The show is set to be a stage adaptation of the popular TV show and promises to bring 'sunshine and smiles' to audiences across the UK and Ireland.
The show will play at dates such as Newcastle, Edinburgh, Dublin, Hull, Liverpool, Southampton, Manchester, Birmingham, Sunderland, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Belfast, Nottingham and more.
We hope it returns sooner rather than later to our TV screens! 🌴
