Scarlett Moffatt speaks out about Ant McPartlin’s I’m A Celebrity return
The show is set to start this month
There’s been an awful lot of uncertainty over whether Ant McPartlin will be joining his on-screen partner in crime Dec Donnelly for this year’s I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here following his stint in rehab this summer.
For a while there was talk of Holly Willoughby and Ant & Dec's former SM:TV co-host Cat Deeley stepping in as Ant’s replacement.
But then, back in August show bosses hinted Ant would indeed be making his big return.
When asked whether ITV would consider taking a break from I'm A Celeb this year, Kevin Lygo responded, "How very dare you.
"Ant is doing really well and we're expecting him to return to I'm a Celebrity, so we won't be resting it."
However, when filming of a promotional video for the show was recently postponed while Ant continued his recovery in LA, more rumours began to spread that Caroline Flack would be flying in to stand in for the host.
Now, former Queen of the Jungle and I'm A Celeb: Extra Camp presenter Scarlett Moffatt has seemingly confirmed Ant will be back Down Under later this year.
"I was texting Dec yesterday about it,” she told the Daily Star at The Pride Of Britain awards.
"The intention is that Ant will be there."
Although it hasn't yet been confirmed, I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here is set to start on ITV within the first two weeks of November.
No celebrities have been revealed for this year's show, but rumours are rife that Love Island star Mike Thalassitis (Muggy Mike), former England football manager Sam Allardyce and The Saturdays singer Vanessa White could be heading into the jungle.
