He is grateful for support from his fans
Former One Director singer Zayn Malik has thanked fans for supporting him following his split from the band.
The 22-year-old took to Twitter earlier today, posting his first message since he sensationally quit the boyband last month.
The message which reached his 14.6m followers, was retweeted 160 thousand times within the first hour of being posted.
Meanwhile, Malik also showed his appreciation for his former bandmates at the Asian Awards on Friday evening.
After accepting an award for his ‘Outstanding Contribution to Music’, he said: “I’d also like to take this moment to thank four of the best guys I ever met whilst being in the band and doing all the amazing things that I did.
“Some of the things that we did will stay with me for the rest of my life.”
Although Zayn didn’t comment on his future, there are rumours suggesting he has already signed a solo deal and will release an album through Simon Cowell’s Syco record label.
