X Factor voiceover legend Peter Dickson quits show after 11 years
It will never be the same again
First presenter Dermot O’Leary jumped ship then we were hit by the shocking news that original Louis Walsh was departing.
Now, making it a triple whammy of exits this year, the voice of The X Factor, Peter Dickson, has confirmed he’s leaving after more than a decade.
Breaking the news on Twitter, 58-year-old Peter wrote: “After the best 11 years with the X Factor, it's time for me to check out and cut loose.”
Synonymous with the singing show since its inception, his unique booming voice will be missed by many viewers.
One Twitter user wrote: “A massive loss for the programme. It will never be the same without you Peter.”
Another wrote: “What an incredible line up of names you must have boomed out over that time? What a legendary trail to leave! Good luck @peterdickson"
London-based Peter has admitted that his favourite X Factor contestant moniker to pronounce was Rachel Adedeji. We’ll always remember him for “RHHHHYYYDIIIAAAAN!”, however.
Alongside The X Factor, Peter has lent his voice to a variety of shows including Britain’s Got Talent, Live at the Apollo, The Price Is Right, Family Fortunes and All Star Mr & Mrs.
Simon Cowell, Rita Ora, Nick Grimshaw and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini are judging this series of The X Factor, while former Xtra Factor co-hosts Caroline Flack and Olly Murs are presenting.
